Avalon 2 Microgaming Slot Game

The first Avalon slot game had plenty of fans thanks to an excellent theme and a style of gameplay that quickly went on to become iconic. However, it ended up being a modern classic for so long that one thing that could be fairly levelled at the game is the fact that the graphics were ultimately a little dated. This didn’t stop many players from enjoying an Arthurian adventure though, so Microgaming put two and two together and determined that it was time for a sequel – and what a sequel it is! Capturing the magic of the original game and adding in some brand new twists, this game is one that will delight the purists and provide a fantastic experience for new players too!

243 Ways to Win on the Board

243 ways to win was practically unheard of when the first game made its mark but it is out in force here on Avalon 2, with all adjacent symbols standing a real chance at forming a winning combination. The playing card icons look fairly standard but the themed icons are particularly good looking, not to mention valuable too. There are even two different wild cards; a standard one represented by the Avalon 2 logo and the Lady of the Lake. While the latter only appears on reel three, she will always expand when she does so, covering the reel in its entirety.

One other thing to look out for during the course of the base game is the Merlin bonus. It’s pretty uninvolved as far as base game features go, but the master wizard can pop up at any time to offer either instant cash or a multiplier on the preceding spin.

The Grail Quest

Something that truly characterises King Arthur is his quest for the Holy Grail and this is brought into the game through the main bonus feature. Three or more Holy Grail symbols will trigger the bonus, with each entry into the round taking you to the next step on the quest. Things commence on the Lake of Legend, where ten dice rolls are awarded with the idea being to forge Excalibur, the iconic sword. Fortunately, you don’t have to be a master blacksmith as you’ll be awarded cash on each roll no matter what. Next, you’ll find yourself in the Misty Vale with fifteen free spins and an additional wild card as chosen by the player.

The feature is then followed by a choice of areas with pick a win or free spin bonuses, before moving on to Morgan’s Keep, the Hall of Shadows and finally the Isle of Avalon itself. We won’t spoil the surprises of what goes on in these areas as the quest is almost like a story and one that you’ll want to experience for yourself. Fortunately, you can do exactly that without even leaving this page – simply head back to the top of the page to get playing with no deposit or download required!
