Dungeons and Dragons – Crystal Caverns Slot by IGT

We’ve never tried the original Dungeons and Dragons games but it’s fair to say that with the sheer number of slots that IGT has released using it as a theme, we’re pretty well versed in what it is all about. The iconic fantasy theme continues here, just as it did on Treasures of Icewind but this time we’re exploring the Crystal Caverns which are evidently packed full of precious stones, as that’s what takes up the majority of the board, alongside some fantasy characters. There are only twenty lines in play on this game, which is kind of on the low side for IGT, but that doesn’t slow the action down one bit thanks to the presence of a base game feature.

Rolling Reels

IGT was among the very first slots developers to make use of rolling reels and so it’s always nice to see the gameplay option make a return as it does here. We’ll keep it brief, but if you’ve never seen the system before, winning symbols will disappear from the board as more land from above, leading to the opportunity to chain consecutive wins together as the process can continue. It also makes it a little easier to find the scatters required to trigger the free spins bonus.

Free Spins in the Crystal Caverns

The gold bonus symbol is the one to keep an eye out for if you’re after free spins and it’s a little complex to trigger the round as these symbols need to all start on the first reel and be along an active win line. Of course, the aforementioned rolling reels help out here and it’s possible to get five in a line. Between two and fifteen free games will be awarded with the added bonus that the monster symbols serve as scatters of sort within the round, paying out their respective prizes no matter the win line configuration. You can also pick up more spins within the round itself, along with the chance to win even more spins if you hit more scatters.

Dungeons and Dragons – Crystal Caverns is another extremely viable game for fans of the series and also has plenty to offer if you’re simply a fan of IGT slot games. The theme is as on point as always and the gameplay is fun, with big rewards out there to be won.
