Pharaoh’s Fortune by IGT
Cleopatra may be the game that gets all the plaudits when it comes to being set in Ancient Egypt, but another game from IGT with a similar idea certainly manages to pull its weight. The game in question is Pharaoh’s Fortune and it’s been around just as long in land based venues. Now, all the great action and features can be sampled online and it remains completely faithful to its original offline counterpart.
It is fair to say that the game makes for a slightly more humorous twist on the theme, not least through the inclusion of Walk like an Egyptian by the Bangles as the soundtrack. Fortunately, the action itself is completely serious, with fifteen fixed win lines to play across and the typically huge selection of coin bets to place on them.
Like many other IGT slots, there’s a selection of feature symbols that generally make for good news each and every time they land on the board. There’s the glowing pyramid wild card and a separate scatter represented by the scarab beetle. This scatter doesn’t lead to any kind of bonus; it’s simply there to award prize wins with no need to follow the win line structure. Bonus round activation is handled instead by the pharaoh’s mask and we must say he looks particularly happy on this game!

The bonus symbol isn’t strictly a scatter on Pharaoh’s Fortune as you’ll need to land three or more on an active win line in order to receive the benefits. Specifically, those benefits come from an initial pick a win round, where players select stone blocks to reveal a free spin and another pick, a multiplier and another pick or the dreaded ‘start’ symbol, which means that it’s time to get the round underway. Three free spins are awarded as standard and anything else that you discover during the pick a win bonus will serve to enhance the round further.
This game serves to cement IGT’s position as the developer to side with when it comes to Egyptian themed slots, with only Aristocrat with games like Queen of the Nile 2 managing to come close. It’s a lot less serious than the likes of Cleopatra but for some players, that’s definitely a good thing.
