Secrets of Atlantis NetEnt Game

In our experience, there are more games in the underwater genre than anything else and there are plenty of reasons why. Back when it was more difficult to make up realistic graphics, a solid blue background and a selection of brightly coloured fish filled the reels of many different casino games and players got used to it. As the graphics improved, the theme remained popular and now we have some real stunners, which just so happen to include this new release from NetEnt. Secrets of Atlantis is a pretty simple game by the developer’s standards but it still manages to capture the attention of players and we’ve got all of the details you need below.

Forty Lines and Four Rows

The game is actually on the big side as far as NetEnt is concerned, as we generally expect something around the 25 lines mark. However, there are four rows of symbols here and they are accompanied by forty lines, which come into play on the basis of wins paying both ways. The symbols themselves are nothing too over the top but they do look very good in their own way. The highlight of those symbols is the mermaid wild, and she has been designed in a way that her full body covers four reel positions. What this means in gameplay terms is a potential stacked wild, and even if the full stack doesn’t appear off the bat, it can nudge itself upwards or downwards to bring the missing symbol area into play.

Respins with Colossal Symbols

Rather than keeping an eye out for scatters on this game, you’ll instead be watching the background colour of the three central reels. On each spin, some can change to a lighter shade of blue, indicating that they are highlighted. When all three of those reels are highlighted at the same time, a block of symbols will merge into one big four by three colossal symbol. A free respin is then awarded and the goal is of course to get as much of that colossal symbol into view as possible. It doesn’t always work out, but the win both ways nature of the game essentially gives players two chances to make use of it and the fact that the colossal symbol can even be wilds means that there are plenty of prizes to be won.

We get the feeling that NetEnt didn’t quite go all out with this game, preferring to divert its resources towards getting the upcoming Motorhead slot game right, but this is a game that is more than just filler and has plenty going for it in its own right. It’s a welcome addition to the range and underwater genre fans will love it. Check it all out here on this page now for free, or play for real at any of our recommended NetEnt partner brands.
