Silent Run NetEnt Slot
Silent Run is a game that we had been playing for quite a while before the time came to review it and we have to say that it has already made its way into our favourites. The closest rival to what this title has to offer would almost certainly be IGT’s Battleship, but this one presents a much grittier depiction of underwater warfare in our opinion. Indeed, it’s so gritty that you might not even think you’re playing a NetEnt game when this one loads as it’s far from the jovial style that many players will be accustomed to. However, it’s well worth sticking around to see what the gameplay has to offer.
25 lines are in play as standard and while the symbols aren’t the best looking, a combination of playing card icons, weapons and ships all certainly look appropriate for the time period, which is intended to be within the Second World War. A red lamp looks rather striking against the blue and green shades that are normally in play and you’ll be pleased to see it thanks to its role as the wild card. If it lands on the third reel then a small feature will be triggered where a sonar is emitted, uncovering a number of additional wild cards on the board. There are also feature symbols which we’ll get straight into now.
The Echo Bonus
The red echo symbol may be the star of the base game, but the green one is where the feature action is to be found. Land that one on the third reel and you’ve triggered the Silent Run bonus. A sonar is emitted from the symbol once more, but this time it is on the lookout for torpedoes. It will find between two and five of them before moving on to the next stage of the bonus. There, you can use the torpedoes that you’ve found to attack ships. Each torpedo has a multiplier on it and every potential target ship is worth a cash amount. When you sink it, the two are put together for a prize and you can keep on playing for as long as you have torpedoes left.
The only downside to Silent Run is the lack of a free spins round but we feel that the quality of the themed features both in the base game and bonus round more than cover for it. This isn’t your average slot game and will only appeal to certain people, but we think that those that like it will absolutely love it!
